Beginner-Friendly Approach: Absolute beginners are welcomed!

 

 

Beginners Painting Course: For those new to painting, I highly recommend beginning with our beginners' painting course.  This course focuses on teaching realism in oils. You'll commence by mastering a black-and-white underpainting technique and progress to painting in colour, mastering blending and shading methods to achieve smoother gradients. Gain a strong foundation in basic colour theory and discover the art of mixing any colour using a limited palette.

Beginner's Course Cost: 

The regular class fee covers the tuition for the course. Additional material costs, excluding paints and brushes, amount to R250 (Cost Price). This covers 3 x triple-primed Illustration boards you'll use for painting, tracing paper, and printed copies of the three paintings you'll create, and lastly all the materials you will need to create your own colour wheel, intensity wheel, greyscale wheel, colour mixing & blending exercises. You can choose to use studio paints & oil paint medium at an extra cost of R50 per lesson or buy your own. If opting for personal paints, make sure to have Titanium White, Black, Burnt Umber, Cadmium Yellow, Cadmium Orange, Cadmium Red, Alizarin Crimson, Cobalt Violet, Ultramarine Blue, and Viridian Green. Moreover, if not using studio paints, you'll require oil paint medium. Don't forget to get two synthetic brush sets: one round for detailed work and another with angular shader brushes.

 

Taylored Guidance: Bring your own reference picture and art materials.  I'll guide you step by step, using a cake projector for easy tracing onto canvas. Whether it's oil paint, acrylics, watercolour, charcoal, or pastels, I'll help you master techniques and correct colour mixing and paint application. (A recommended materials list is available.)

 

Small Class Sizes: Experience personalised attention in a cozy setting with a maximum of 8 students per class. Your artistic journey gets the focus it deserves.

 

Freedom to Work at Your Pace: No rush! Work at your own speed until your masterpiece is complete. Your individual pace is respected and supported.

Flexible Scheduling Options: Life gets busy, and we understand! Choose between monthly classes or a pay-as-you-go option to suit your schedule.

 

Class Schedule:  

- Thursdays:

  - 9:00 AM – 11:00 AM (2 hours)

  - 9:00 AM – 12:00 PM (3 hours)

- Saturdays: 

 - 9:00 AM - 12:00 PM (3 hours)

Fees:

• Pay-As-You-Go:

  • 2-hour session: R225 per lesson

  • 3-hour session: R300 per lesson

  • Four 3-hour lesson package: R1000 (Terms & Conditions Apply)
     

How to register for art classes:

1. Please send me a message on WhatsApp on 0791367707 to let me know that you are interested in booking an art class.

2. Kindly include the following information in your message:

 A) CONTACT DETAILS: Your name, Phone Number and Email address.

 B) YOUR PREFERRED MEDIUM: What medium you will usually be working in (oils, acrylic, watercolours, etc.)

 C) If you have painted before, kindly include a sample of one of your artworks.

 D) Confirm if you will be starting with the Beginner's Oil Painting Course or your own project. 

 E) If you are starting with your own project, please send me a copy of your reference picture and the size of your canvas. 

3. Payment:

Fees are payable in CASH on or before the lesson. 

5. You will receive a welcome letter from me to include a list of art materials that you need to bring to your first lesson.

6. Please be courteous and let me know in advance if you are not going to be able to make it to your booked class. The sooner I know, the sooner I can offer your place to someone else on the waiting list.
